Problems and Solutions 3
What I anticipated has happened I am working by myself I am struggling to gather all my actors together to film as multiple characters are involved in one shot. With time running out I have decided to solve this problem by we- writing the script so that less characters are used resulting in me having to use clever angles and shots to compensate for this.
Bloopers
"A blooper is a short sequence of a film or video production, which is of clips / scenes with mistakes made by a member of the cast or crew."
I composed and put together a couple clips/ scenes that did not quite make the final cut. CLIP MAY CONTAIN SWEARING.

Introduction Rough Cut (POST PRODUCTION)
Films use introductions to show the studios, producers and any other company involved in the production of the film whether it is pre or post production. By doing this it can be said I am going against the conventions of short films which do not use major companies when it comes to production, however it gives me a chance to be creative by designing a short intro to the film.

Screen shot of me uploading the films to be edited.
Screen shot of me editing the clips using the time-line and adding music.
I am happy with the rough cuts but will still be making hangings to try and improve the quality of the video and professionalism. The final version will be seen in the final cut of the short film.

Technology (Short Film, Film Poster and Magazine review)
Adobe Photoshop is a graphics editing program developed and published by Adobe Systems Incorporated. I will be using photo shop CS3 to manipulate my images for my logo for the introduction and images for the poster and review.
Adobe Illustrator is a vector graphics editor developed and marketed by Adobe Systems.
Adobe InDesign is a software application produced by Adobe Systems. It can be used to create works such as posters, flyers, brochures, magazines, newspapers and books. Designers and graphics production artists are the principal users, creating and laying out periodical publications, posters, and print media. I will be using in design to plan the layout for my film poster and magazine review.
Adobe After Effects is a digital motion graphics and compositing software published by Adobe Systems. Its main purpose is for film and video post-production.
Windows Movie Maker is a video creating/editing software. I will be using movie maker to compose any rough cuts as the software is simple and has basic editing tools. I will also be using it to create my bloopers and for evaluation questions.
Blogger is a blog publishing service that allows private or multi-user blogs with time-stamped entries. This is the site were I will be electronically documenting my work and monitoring my progress during the project. I use it as a diary but I also use it to communicate my work to the public to receive feedback.
Adobe Premiere Elements is a video editing software application for non-linear video editing. I will be using Premiere to edit the final cut of my short film I may also using other editing software as I don't have the software at home as long as there is not compatibility issues I should be fine.
Reelclever is a suite of productivity and promotional tools, built for film and production industries. I used this website format fr the planning of my project. I will also be using it for the evaluation stage to get audience feedback.
Filming: Day Five
Last day of filming, today I filmed what was meant to be filmed on the. Me and my sister left the house t walk a 15 minute walk in the snow slipping and sliding we got there eventually. I filmed a few shots of her on the swings and playing on the merry go round. With the camera battery low and home far away i decided to film any random shots i thought would look good at fit in with the narrative of the film. e.g a melting icicle.
Indoors I filmed my sister glaring at the camera which I planned to include in the 'emotional scene'.
I filmed some last minute shots of a clock ticking, an glass angel, some trees.
I am very happy with all the actors that took part in all the filming, who responded brilliantly to my directing and gave it 100% and we are all very happy with what we’ve seen of the shots taken so far.
Once filming was done on each scene, I spent some time taking a number of photos for the posters as planned.

Filming: Day Four
Today me and sister arranged to film the scene which involves flashbacks of her playing in the park it would have being nice to record this part in sunny conditions but I knew we ain't getting none of that. With the blistering conditions outside my sister refused to leave the house till all the snow had gone and with myself running on a deadline I knew this was not going to happen.
Problem
So I decided to go to the park myself and record some test shots which I thought I might be able to use in the final cut as it was around 4.30 the shots were quite dark and dull.
Here is some pictures of the location and shots I filmed.

Problems and Solutions 6
My sister has refused to film today because of weather conditions however I have convinced her to film tomorrow if I buy her a big bar of chocolate -____- Problem solved !!!
Filming: Day Three
Today or should I say tonight I filmed a very short scene which involved me recording a candle on fire in the dark ,I had to be aware of the hazards that could have occurred so I had to refer back to my hazard perception form in doing so I applied safety precautions by putting a wet towels round the candle just encase it toppled over. The filming was brief and only required the help of my little sister to blow out the candle. It took about 10 minutes to set up and film the scene which is part of the 'emotional breakdown scene'. Overall the filming went very well apart from me burning my finger on the candle as I got too close.
Here is me recording one of the scenes.

Rough Cut - Introduction First few minutes
I feel this scene is a conventional dramatic opener there is still a lot of work to do but this just a rough cut. There are scenes were the camera is not as sturdy as I would have liked and a scene were my finger is in the way unfortunately I only film this scene once and due to limited time restrictions and weather conditions I will not be able to film it again. I am happy with the sound quality and lighting, I used cinematic contrast, hue and saturation settings to darken the footage and give it a professional dramatic effect and feel.
Filming: Day Two
As I previously stated I decided to film all my scene which involved the actor I had available that day. As I had Zak available who is playing the main protagonist 'Alan Johnson'. I filmed the 'starting scene', 'police interview scene', the 'emotional flashback scene' and the 'last police interview scene'. All the filming went very well although I did forget a few shots. I learnt from my mistakes previously making sure the camera was not on standby when I thought I was recording i also made sure that all my shots were steady.
Taking advantage of the infamous British weather I used the snow as a semiotic to represent the characters coldness without his daughter by filming some shots outside.
Unfortunately I did not take any pictures of the set of me recording but here is some screen shots of what I filmed on the day.
Overall, it was a very productive day of filming, I am happy with Zak acting and the shots I have.
Problems and Solutions 5
THE SNOW HAS LANDED - London is covered in snow how ever it was anticipated I will take this opportunity to film some shots outside as it will look more dramatic and the white snow provides excellent lighting
Problems and Solutions 4
When I was filming the Tommy Disaronno scene I made a critical school boy era of thinking I was recording while the camera was on standby this effected the last 8 shots of the scene fortunately I filmed it twice. I wont be making that mistake again just in case it a one off shot which cannot be filmed again.
Filming: Day One
25/10/2010
As I was doing the project by myself it was difficult to get everyone together in one place so I decided to film all the actors roles daily, So I did not film in the chronological order that the scenes would appear in the final cut. My first day shooting would involve the 'Tommy Disaronno' scenes which are all based interiorly. The filming went well as I prepared the location before hand and the scenes were simple, with not very complex lines to learn. Unfortunately when looking back at the last couple shots I realised there was a problem.
Here are some behind the scene photo's of the scene.
Poster I made so on one would disturb when I was filming.

Completed photoshoot (Scenery for poster and magazine review)
I have completed the photo shoot successfully. I took all the photo's early in the mourning, in the City of London, I am planning to crop the photos in adobe photo shop. The photos will be used in my poster as well as the magazine review. I used google maps to find the best locations to take the photos. I used a 14 mega pixel camera set to web quality as I would be uploading them to photo shop and In design. I have set up a direct link to my blog named flickr photos were all my pictures will be displayed with notes.
