THE SNOW HAS LANDED - London is covered in snow how ever it was anticipated I will take this opportunity to film some shots outside as it will look more dramatic and the white snow provides excellent lighting

When I was filming the Tommy Disaronno scene I made a critical school boy era of thinking I was recording while the camera was on standby this effected the last 8 shots of the scene fortunately I filmed it twice. I wont be making that mistake again just in case it a one off shot which cannot be filmed again.

Filming: Day One

25/10/2010

As I was doing the project by myself it was difficult to get everyone together in one place so I decided to film all the actors roles daily, So I did not film in the chronological order that the scenes would appear in the final cut. My first day shooting would involve the 'Tommy Disaronno' scenes which are all based interiorly. The filming went well  as I prepared the location before hand and the scenes were simple, with not very complex lines to learn.  Unfortunately when looking back at the last couple shots I realised there was a problem.

I have completed the photo shoot successfully. I took all the photo's early in the mourning, in the City of London, I am planning to crop the photos in adobe photo shop. The photos will be used in my poster as well as the magazine review. I used google maps to find the best locations to take the photos. I used a 14 mega pixel camera set to web quality as I would be uploading them to photo shop and In design. I have set up a direct link to my blog named flickr photos were all my pictures will be displayed with notes.

Casting news 3 (PLANNING AND ORGANISING)

I have asked my sisters if they wont mind playing a small part in the film Rachael who will be playing Joanne the daughter of Alan Johnson. She has acted before in previous projects, there will be no problem with availability. Rosemary who will be playing the witness, there will also be no problem with her availability

My main character who was meant to be playing the protagonist will not be able to play the role. So I have had to quickly cast another actor who was part of my plan B. Check my call log for updates and casting news.

At this vey busy period most of my friends are working and preparing for exams as a result I have had to change the synopsis a bit result in more of a pyscological drama.

Poster Drafts (PLANNING AND ORGANISING)

For this poster design the main aim was to fit in with the conventions of the short film. The title will be in grey. 

The characters will be in black and white with a blue tint applied. The tag line will be in red.

Images of the two characters will show conflict between the two.

* The Big bold title is to catch the attention of the audience. The city within the title will insinuate the location for the film 

* The most interesting aspect of the poster will be the eyes of the character which will be kept in normal colour to depict his anger and rage.

* The  poster will be landscape 

* The poster will show some company logs which tell people what companies that are involved in the production of the film.

* The film will have a tag line ‘LET ME DOWN THE KID DIES’ the tag line wraps up the storyline in a sentence.

* The poster will not show a release date for the film which will create anticipation.

* Billing/credit block 

* The lead roles first name will be smaller, to tell the audience who is in the film.

For this poster design the aim was to show all the characters in the film presented in a V shape with the main protagonist being at the front. This poster would have information than the previous. The title would be in 'blood' red. The characters would be in black and white with an effected added in the photoshop process. The tag-line would also be in red.

* The poster will be portrait.

* The poster will show some company logs which tell people what companies that are involved in the production of the film.

For this poster design I used a technique I saw on one of the godfather posters which just displayed the protagonist using the rule of thirds on the left side minupulated in photoshop. The Title would be in bold white or red. The tag-line would also be in red or white.

Fonts for poster/magazine review

 I have chosen five Sans-serif font (typeface which does not have the small features called serifs at the end of the strokes) and  two Serif fonts. This is due to the fact that are used more for headlines than text in articles for example. I understand that Serif fonts attract the viewers eye and allows them to read the text more easily, however I will compensate this by using a large bold font, so the name of the film can easily be identified.

Great news found my next actor who helped me previously with producing a music video he is my good friend Tyrone who will be playing the main protagonist Alan Johnson. All our conversations will be recorded on the call log. Just need to find 4 more actors its a good start so far.
